Surveying Apex Legends Creator Hub members

We surveyed over 400 Apex Legends Creator Hub members, and we think you should survey your creators, too.

When we set out to rebuild the foundations of the Hub over a year ago, our guiding light was to show up for creators, and not only during the big marketing beats. The Hub was built to be a resource for creators, not a program to extract content. Respawn's philosophy is to empower them to serve their communities and to provide as much communication as we can from the franchise.

Since then, we saw a 588% increase in membership. That’s despite only accepting 56% of applicants, as we want to ensure our creators are genuinely dedicated to Apex Legends. This has nothing to do with their numbers, but everything to do with their consistency. This selectiveness creates a real sense of pride, with 70% of our creators posting about joining the hub, and a significant growth in UGC from Hub members.

This is great, but we still aim for more. We wanted to make sure our Creator Hub gets better with time, and avoids the pitfalls of stagnation that befall so many creator programmes.

So, we asked creators to be as candid with us as possible. Does the Hub meet their expectations? Is the onboarding clear? Are they happy with the opportunities they get?

Here’s what we found out:

🏁 Our onboarding got an 8.8 out of 10, and language support came to 8.9 (a proud moment: as a multi-lingual team we get what it means to be able to speak to someone in your primary language!)

🎁 Perks and opportunities offered to Hub members got a score of 8.8. These include exclusive dev Q&As, panels and in-person meetings with Respawn staff, with a real focus on relationship-building.

🤝 Most importantly: 9.2 out of 10 would recommend the Hub to other creators. We got honest, useful feedback from creators who live and breathe Apex Legends.

Giving them the opportunity to speak up meant they could tell us exactly what they want from us (win-win for everyone!), which was a real opportunity to tweak our Hub to meet their expectations. The survey has been invaluable, and I strongly recommend checking in with your creators if you haven't in a while!! Creator Hub members have produced an average of 10,000 UGC posts per month, outperforming non-program creators, and continuing to increase their post cadence. Excited to offer them an even stronger support system post-survey!

Huge thanks to the Respawn team: especially Andy Lunique (for your strategic guidance and continued trust) and Michelle Cheng (for your always-on operations excellence), plus our partners at Theogames who help us cover the LATAM market.
